In 2014, Villa Riviere created the Prix de la Villa Riviere, which rewards an artist whose work is directly related to the tangible or intangible heritage of Reunion Island.
The endowment is one thousand euros for the laureate.
A jury, consisting of 4 to 7 members, audition the three finalists selected among the candidates registered according to the registration procedure. The jury conducts an individual audition of each of the three finalists selected and after deliberation proclaims the name of the winner.
The award for the 2019 edition is scheduled for June 7, 2019. Applications will be opened a few weeks before.

Winner : Félix DUCLASSAN, visual artist was rewarded for his series of 9 drawings of "Madame Antoinette", highlighting the importance of the nénènes (nanies) in the life of Reunion.
